What's missing in The First Ch__ch of the Ultimate Fanaticism?
ha ha.. I saw something like that on one of those silly church signs the other day.
And a Happy Bah Humbug to you all!!
I hope all of y'all are having a great holiday season.
I'm half-way boycotting it because it can be so damn stressful, but I have really been enjoying all the great food spreads my friends have had. Way too much X-mas partying going on around here.
I've been taking advantage of the cold weather which means I've been drinking lots of Guinness and eating lots of raw oysters and trying to sleep a little. Ha Ha! I don't get much sleep the rest of the year because I'm driving all over the country trying to entertain all of you!
December is notoriously the slowest time of year for music and touring so I'm taking it pretty easy as far as shows go, (not to say that I don't have shows in December! I DO!) but we will be out there steadily rockin' more shows again next month and back on the road by the end of January. I'm sorry to say I won't be playing a New Year's Eve show for the first time in 10+ years. It's not because we didn't try. Things just didn't fall into place. We have been trying to set something up since July. I guess it means I get to actually celebrate NYE this year instead of work!
Anyway, wanted to let you guys in on some exciting things to come in 2012. In January, I'm really looking forward to getting back into the southern USA.
I'm taking new Bloodshot Records artist, Lydia Loveless out with me this time. She'll be playing a stripped down set every night as we work our way across the South, and yes we're coming to Florida!! I hope all of you southern folks are ready to check these bad ass shows out! It's really going to be something!!
As soon as we finish up that tour in early February, I have to haul ass out west!
I just finished up touring the entire Western US a few weeks ago but this time I'll be jumping on a tour with G. Love and Special Sauce in February thru March. (I won't be home for SXSW Festival for the first time in 12 years! Kinda sorry to say that because you know we always have a blast!) Some people may say that pairing G. Love and myself is a little strange, but the idea is that I will be playing in front of alot more people every night, and most of which will have never seen me before. I'm guessing most of G. Love's fans have not heard of me before so this will be a great way to get more exposure and turn some new people onto the gospel of the First Church of The Ultimate Fanaticism. Also, alot of these shows are going to be in bigger venues like Fillmore West in San Francisco and some of the House Of Blues venues around the West Coast.
This tour will also take us across the NW and into the midwest finally ending in Chicago. After that I'll actually be home in April and will hopefully be seeing some nice weather in Texas. i'm usually gone in the nicest parts of the year so looking forward to maybe having another nice garden and will probably need to stock up on some new chickens. I lost 4 of the 6 that I had over the last burning summer, and when it started cooling down Mr. Possum decided to start beheading them. A big hawk landed in there the other day and tried to get away with another one.
Farmer Biram's pissed but Farmer Biram always wins! While I'm home in April, and May I'll be playing quite a few regional dates around Texas.
Anyway, wanted to let all of you know what's up with the first half of '12 and also to let some of you European friends know that we're trying to plan something for the fall over there. It's a little tricky since the exchange rate from Dollar to Euro is really sad right now. I'll be trying to get back as soon as I can afford it. Thanks for your patience.
Anyway, I hope to see all of your faces out at the upcoming shows and thanks so much for supporting me and making the release of my latest record, "Bad Ingredients" such a success. You've all made 2011 one of the best years I've had in music so far!
Happy Holidays!
Take care,
SHB=
Nov. 2011
Greetings freaks!!
October has been a really exciting month with my NEW RELEASE: "BAD INGREDIENTS" as well as all the new videos we've been releasing via Paste Magazine. I've been busy as hell with interviews and planning for all the coming months. Be sure and do a little googling and find some of the great reviews of the new record. Also, chime in and tell anybody who's given it a bad review to "Suck it!" ha ha....seriously. I was very honored to be featured on the cover of The Austin Chronicle this past week. This something I've wanted for a very long time.
Yikes! It's already rolled back around!!.....I just got home and I'm already hittin' the road again! This time I'm hitting the WESTERN USA in November and bringing along my friends Joe Buck Yourself, and Molly Gene: One Whoaman Band. But not before we tear up Texas with a few more exciting shows! These dates are all listed below. The big one being my Halloween show at Scoot Inn right here in Austin, TX on 10/29.
This Tuesday Oct. 25th, FX Channel's "Sons of Anarchy" will feature two of my older original songs "Still Drunk, Still Crazy, Still Blue" and "Lost Case of Being Found." Also, next week's "Sons of Anarchy" episode will feature one of my older originals "No Way." Awesome!
One more thing...
We've got some great new merch for the new tour. We re-stocked the "H. is for Fuck You" patches and they're also available on www.scottbiram.com. I also have new SHB Trucker Hats! I know people have wanted those for a very long time so here they come! We made SHB stickers for the first time in 5 years! Anyway, bring your wallet and your purse or your man-purse or whatever you carry your cash in and come buy some shit! We need the money! I love you guys and thanks so much for all the nice things you've been saying about the new record. Every thing you guys say means alot to me. Thanks so much for your support!
