Fall News 2008
Greetings People of Earth,
I have been a mess for way too long and I think I’m comin’ out of it finally…
Like some crazy blues guy said awhile back “ I see the light!”
I think I’m on the outbound side of a pretty funky mental breakdown and I’m feelin’ quite a bit better. Thanks to all my friends, family and fans for puttin’ up with me as I rode a whiskey bent rollercoaster around for a good couple years and then, more recently, came off some medications which unfortunately the withdrawal symptoms included some pretty heavy passive aggressive lash outs. Anyway, I’m feeling better, and sorry for anybody that had to witness any craziness in the last few months…Just puttin’ a courtesy apology out there for all you true friends and family that didn’t deserve it. That said, I am not apologizing for everything. There were a few lash outs that were completely deserved. anyway. sorry again to my friends and family who weren’t deserving of the hell I raised..Enough said…
On another note, I’ve been back on the songwriting train and have a good handful of new songs to try out on y’all when I head out this next month. I’m re-incorporating my old acoustic guitar into the set a bit for a few of the mellower songs. Haven’t really decided which songs for sure yet, but I’m sure you’ll find out if you show up to some of the performances. This is all if my old beat up guitar pick up can stand the travel..
I’ve also, as alot of you, know been working really hard on my new record.
I have 11 songs recorded and mostly finished with the mixing. But after a little thought and prayer while completely depressed in a hotel room in Europe…I’ve decided that, although I have enough songs for a record, I’m going to keep workin’ on recording a few more. I feel like the balance between the soft songs and the more boogied up rockin’ songs is not where I want it. Rather than put out a few good songs and a bunch of filler music to make a full record, I want to work more and give you guys a good solid one with a nice balance between the mellow stuff and the rockin’ stuff. So thanks for being patient. I promise you’ll like it when I’m done.
Thanks to everyone who came out to the French and Swiss shows last week.I had a great time. I was at my Euro promoter, Jean Luc’s house in France with my friend’s the BellRays when Obama got elected. We watched the acceptance speech at 5:30am over there, and it was awesome! Like watching Neil Armstrong walk on the moon the for the first time…It was a historical experience I’ll never forget. Congratulations to our soon to be President, Obama! There are alot of good things to come and I look forward to it. Once again “ I see the light!”
I’ll be making my regular winter tour across the Southern US a little early this year. I was over that way back in February..But instead of waiting until winter I’ll be hitting it up in Nov/Dec this time. So y’all don’t have to wait too long. I’ll be playing one show in New Orleans with the Misfits which should be interesting, and another in Daytona Beach with T-Model Ford and Gravel Road.. Which should be equally if not more interesting but in a completely different sense.
Anyway, looking forward to seeing you guys out there. Please try to come out and see me. I need the money! I’m completely broke. Come say hello to US Justin and Todd the sound guy and buy some shit!!
